South Mountain State Park is a gorgeous, uncrowded gem. There are multiple waterfalls along many trails, and there is a well-developed trail system. The park is a great place to go for a short, beautiful day hike or a much longer backpack. There are multiple backcountry camping sites. Wildlife in the area includes deer, black bear, and wild pigs.
