The Blue Trail is listed as 13.5 miles at the trailhead and although, my Garmin only tracked a little over 8, that may be to operator error. The trail is not overly demanding, but mainly consists of fine dirt more suited to horseback riding and not hiking. This makes it difficult to get much speed going on the trails. There are some decent sites along the way, but nothing out of the ordinary. This is what the DFW metroplex must have looked like 200 years ago. I did see a deer and a couple other small animals. The grasshoppers are everywhere along the trail and become distracting in parts.
There is NO WATER anywhere so either bring a lot or have a filtration system ready to go.
A long hike during hot weather, if you have an overnight plan, this blue trail would be a good hike.
