Day 1 - Left Folsom and drove to the trailhead near Lake Alpine (CA HWY 4). Hiked 6 miles downhill and dropped roughly 3500 feet in elevation to Camp Irene. Spent the rest of the day relaxing near the river, fishing, playing cards, and soothing our sore feet and muscles.

Day 2 - After breakfast, we hiked up river for some canyoneering, fishing, and exploring. After lunch we relaxed at our private beach, played some more cards, and fished.

Day 3 - Explored the area west of camp looking for a waterfall. After lunch we journeyed downriver for more fishing and sightseeing.

Day 4 - Time to hike back up the mountain (6 miles and 3500 feet elevation gain) and drive back to Folsom. Stopped at Giant Burger in Arnold for well deserved burgers and fries.
