| NATIONAL PARKS QUICKLINKS |
The LBJ Grasslands has about 75 miles of trails that are multiuse use trails. On this trip we took the trail labeled as the red trails. Our plan was to make it a 2 day hike, but we Covered half of the trail in just a few hours. This trial would be a great day hike for just about anyone. If you are planning to backpack the trail there are plenty of places to get water. Bring your filter or purification tablets. All of the trails are marked pretty well so you shouldn't have problems staying on the right trail.
Our plan was to stay in At Black Creek Lake. If you want a great camping spot its worth the small side trip that you would have to take. Black creek has fire rings, tables, and a restroom facility. There is also a large stand of pine trees on the back side of the lake that you can get to by walking across the dam. As for the trail system. If you Plan on using it on weekends be aware that there are a lot of horses on the trail. See the link below it will tell you a little about TADRA
