This trail is suitable for winter or early spring. In Fall, water may be too high, and after early spring, bugs, heat and humidity may make it unbearable. But in season, this is an enjoyable two-overnight trip. Just be sure to load up with water before leaving the Withlacoochee River area on Day 2, because there is no water near the Day 2 campsite. I made a mid-week trip and encountered no other hikers. A good map is available from the Florida Trails Association.
