My 10 year old daughter and I went on a short overnighter to Ancient Lake just South of Quincy, WA. Ancient Lake is found in the Quincy Wildlife Area on Washington State Fish and Wildlife Lands. The hike was an easy 1.5 miles in from the trailhead to the East. Although, there was a scree slope that had to be navigated at the approach to Ancient Lake. The slope was enough to excite my daughter and worry her Dad. April was a great time to hike into this location. The temperature was perfect and wildflowers had just started to sprout.
