This is the first of two run in the dirt sections. This is meant to break up the packs. Some will ride, but I suggest walking.

Rob leads us down the second dry creek crossing. Watch out for 67 milers fresh and just starting out near here.

Tour de Tucson is like Sturgis for road bikes. Everyone should do this ride at least once in their lives! This 109 mile circuit takes you counter clockwise around the city passing through both remote and well populated parts. Along the way you will pass by landmarks like the “bone yard” where old military planes go to die and more lively places like Saguaro National Monument! The support and camaraderie of the local cycling community and fans is like nothing else you will experience in any other local ride! The citizens of Tucson go out of their way to make you feel welcome! Doing the ride with 8,000 of your closest friends is just icing on the cake!
