|NATIONAL PARKS QUICKLINKS|
This pleasant short hike (5.3 mile round trip) begins with a steep climb from the end of Gridley Road to a ranch road leading through an avocado orchard. The road runs east to meet Gridley Canyon, where it bends north on its way to a small trail camp with good year-round water. A longer and more strenuous hike can be made to the top of the ridge. This route is popular with mountain bikers. DIRECTIONS: From downtown Ojai, go east on Highway 150 to Gridley Road; turn left and follow the road for 1.6 miles to the (usually) locked gate, where a private road begins. Park in one of the trun-outs, and walk back down the road a short distance to the trail head, on your right. It is clearly marked.
