National Slavery Museum Hike

va

Star Star Star Star Star

Distance: 1.4 miles

From the National Slavery Museum's proposed site to the Rappahannock River and around the old rock quarry

This trip starts at the National Slavery Museum Garden located in "Celebrate Virginia" - Fredericksburg, Virginia and follows a hiking trail along the ledge of an abandoned rock quarry. I am a novice hiker and this was quite difficult getting back up the trail fromn the quarry, especially because of the trail going along the ledge. We were looking straight down into the quarry for the entire hike back up the "mountain". My wife and I decided that at the age of 56, this was more than we bargained for, but I must admit, it was exhilarating.
