26-JUL-08 - Burque Sampler

Star Star Star Star Star

Distance: 41.1 miles

This ride is a nice leisurely loop that takes you on a tour of the city. Begin in the majestic foothills near the Forest Boundary where wild rabbits, bobcats, and coyote roam. Follow Tramway as it snakes down towards the river past empty fields. Pass through beautiful residential settings as you join the paved Bosque bike path. This path follows the flow of the Rio Grande past nature preserves before you find a nice break spot at Tingley Beach. From here enter the historic country club setting of downtown Albuquerque, before passing through industrial settings and beginning your climb back up to the foothills. Along the way, stop for a snack and coffee in the recently developed Uptown Setting. Then follow another paved dedicated path back to Tramway before ending up at High Desert Park.
