Washington, DC: Pooks Hill to Chinatown

md

Star Star Star Star Star

Distance: 12.9 miles

My morning bicycle commute from Bethesda to Downtown DC. Only real twist from the norm on this ride was a downed tree near Fletcher's Boathouse on the Capital Crescent Trail. I busted out a nice sprint on Pennsylvania Ave. through Lafayette Park and the White House; it's an awesome, car-free section where you can really open it up. Just a little bit of congestion near the office and the Chinatown Arch, but nothing too tough to navigate.

Light mist and overcast skies made for perfect temps. Also: new tires! This was the first ride with these rims. Glorious, enlightened riding. Gear check: clip-on tail light fell off seatpost bag near NIH. Next time bombproof the ride, Andrew.
