You pass through several types of terrain here and two types of forest (Joshua Tree and Pinon Pine).
Day hike (9 miles round trip) to a peak in the Southern Sierra. 4 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail and excellent views all along the way. Elevation is just low enough that you can hike it almost all year round. DIRECTIONS TO TRAILHEAD: Take highway 14 N to 178 N. Take 178 N to PCT Trailhead just before Walker Pass. Park at trailhead (MOR001).
