Grand Canyon: Seven Mile Draw Loop

Seven Mile Draw is a scenic little known side canyon in the Marble Canyon part of Grand Canyon National Park that can be done as a technical 5 mile loop hike.  This is a very difficult off-trail route requiring one 85' rappel, solid route finding skills, and comfort with hiking on exposed debris fields.

Grand Canyon: Toroweap - Lava Falls

Toroweap (also known as Tuweap) is a great place to visit for a very uinique view of Grand Canyon National Park. From 3,000 feet above the Colorado river, Toroweap point provides a vertical vantage that can't be found anywhere else in Grand Canyon. The colors of the cliffs delight the vistor as the sun rises and sets. The campground has seven spots and is only one mile back from the rim offering fire pits and out house facilities. It's a welcome relief after traveling 61 miles of dirt road to get to this remote and isolated location on the famed Arizona Strip. And the highly adventurous can hike from the base of Vulcan's Throne down the 1.5 mile (and 2,540' vertical) trail leading to Lava Falls, the largest rapid in Grand Canyon. This hike is extremely challenging and not recommended for beginners. Bring lots of water and allocate at least half a day round trip depending on your physical condition.
