Arkansas River: Lake Fork to Granite


This section of river is 14.4 miles in length. Although navigable, this section is seldom boated. Abundant fishing opportunities exist and is the primary activity on this section. Provided by the AHRA.

Arkansas River: Rincon to Pinnacle Rock


This section is 20.4 miles long and travels the heart of Big Horn Sheep Canyon. It is known for its moderate whitewater and wildlife viewing opportunities. Abundant fishing opportunites also exist. Provided by the AHRA.

Arkansas River: Stone Bridge to Rincon


This section is 19.4 miles long. With milder whitewater, this section is a great beginner level and family run and is also known for abundant fishing opportunities. See caution for Salida Low Head. Provided by the AHRA.

Boise: Sleeping Deer to Mid-Salmon River Loop


Set aside a long weekend for great fishing on this 32.4-mile loop in the remote Salmon River Mountains, where crystal waters attract elk, moose, and bears.

Craig Creek - 5.5 mile canoe/kayak float


Craig Creek is an incredibly beautiful shallow creek that meanders its way through lush vegetation. It is best paddled in the fall or spring, or after a significant rainfall. This section is a 5.5 mile float with minor ripples.

James River - Arcadia to Glasgow (~14 miles)


Great canoe/kayak section of James River. Float from Arcadia to Glasgow (~15 miles). Paddlers, anglers and families can get back to nature and enjoy the sights and sounds of the Upper James.

James River - Balcony Falls whitewater section


Classic Virginia Class II+(III) whitewater run. With a huge watershed providing year round boatable levels this is THE run for beginner and intermediate paddlers in VA.

James River - Eagle Rock to Springwood (~16 miles)


Great canoe/kayak section of James River from town of Eagle Rock to town of Springwood (~16 miles). Continue to Buchanan take out for an additional 3 miles.

James River - Iron Gate to Eagle Rock (~15 miles)


Great canoe/kayak section of James River from town of Iron Gate to town of Eagle Rock (~15 miles).

James River - Springwood to Buchanan to Arcadia (3/7/10 mile options)


Great canoe/kayak and tube section of James River. Float from Springwood to Buchanan (~3 miles) or from Buchanan to Arcadia (~7 miles), or combine them both for ~10 miles.
