Cascade Pass to Sahale Arm, North Cascades NP, WA
Take this 11-mile out-and-back to overlook the rugged Cascades and Doubtful Lake, a deep-blue secret fed by six cascading mountain streams. Perch for the night on the edge of 8,000-foot Sahale Arm, camping at the toe of Sahale Glacier to the north, and taking in the morning’s sunrise above the snow-swept slopes of 8,816-foot Forbidden Peak and fields of blue alpine forget-me-nots (blooming early summer).
