On The Horns Of A Dilemma

Horns or antlers?

Horns or antlers? That’s the question when it comes to the prairie-loving pronghorn antelope. The black, forked protrusions are found on males and females, and stay attached their entire lives, just like horns. But, like an antler, the outer keratin fiber that covers the bone drops off each year. Plus, a true horn is never forked. The moral: Human rules can’t predict nature’s forms.
