Gear Reviews: Tent

Gunnison 3.1

Manufacturer: Kelty

rating

Reviewed by: DavidMelissaHall

We initially bought the Gunnison 4.1 but after it arrived and setting it up realized that was way more tent than we needed for the wife, me and our akita (avg 80lbs). We ended up taking it back to REI on our way to the mountains to camp and replaced it with the Gunnison 3.1. This tent was more than roomy enough for all 3 of us and our 3 packs in the tent. Having a door on each side is a plus as we don't have to climb over anyone if we need out in the middle of the night. The ventilation was great also. We ended up putting the rainfly up as it looked like rain but there was none. There was no condensation build up in the morning either. Overall we are glad we made this purchase. Our next trip will be the big test as we will be taking both dogs. Our other dog is a 180 pound english mastiff so the vestibules on both sides will be used for the dogs to sleep.
