Love these boots! Just recently got a pair. TNF has learned something from running shoe manufacturers. There are different kinds of feet and walks. These have a wider sole in the heel, and a footbed much like my running shoes. I've always been a little clumsy and tend to turn my ankle on rougher terrain. For me, most hiking boots are way too narrow in the heel area. The North Face Jannu's do NOT have that problem. They are far more stable, for ME, than any other hiking boot I can remember wearing.
