This pack weighs just about 3 pounds less than my pack before, and is just as durable, rated to hold up to 45 pounds comfortably. I used it on a 5 day trip in Oregon on a variety of terrain and weather. Once I figured out the correct weight placement (carrying aprox 33-35 pounds) it fit like a glove against my back, very comfortable. The large back pocket/flap was very convenient for accessing larger items quickly. The smaller size/weight configuration makes it a great all in one for side trips without having to bring another pack or use your full size one. Overall very pleased with the comfort, durability/weather resistance, and practicality. Built in water bladder holder is also a plus.
