Become a navigation expert with our 4-week webinar. (Andrew Matranga)
Turn yourself into a modern-day explorer--and never worry about getting lost again--with our all-new interactive navigation tutorials. In this basic class, you'll learn the essentials of map reading, GPS, and compass, plus how to use today's best mapping software to plan, post, and share trips. See below for more details--and to secure one of the limited spots available.
In our four-week online tutorial, we'll use photos, videos, and map displays to show you how to plot a bearing, create a Google Earth flyover, save GPS waypoints, geotag photos, and much more. By the end of the course, you'll be able to navigate confidently in trailless terrain and profit from a whole new range of online mapping tools. For anyone who wants to explore off-trail wilderness or lead a group in the backcountry, this is an essential body of knowledge--and it's taught by real backpackers with decades of navigation experience. Our map editors regularly advise GPS makers on technology upgrades--you won't find instructors with more real-world experience anywhere for this price!
GO FARTHER WITH MAPS AND GPS: NAVIGATION 101
4-WEEK ONLINE WEBINAR: PRICE $300
DATES: April 5, 12, 19 and 26.
TIME: All sessions will begin at 2:00 p.m. EST.
In this online class, you'll learn the essentials of navigation in four live sessions (Note: sessions will be recorded so if you miss one, you'll be able to catch up and won't miss the content) taught by our map editors. Our GPS curriculum is device-and brand-agnostic; we've taught hikers with Garmins, Magellans, Delormes, iPhones, and other types of GPS units.
