Overcoming your fear of heights on Katahdin's Knife Edge? Finally getting your skeptical sister to enjoy a few nights in the woods with you?
We want to hear about your dream backpacking trip, and we want to help make it happen.
As a part of our 40th anniversary celebration giveaways, BACKPACKER is sending readers on six dream treks. We'll take care of planning, airfare, ground transportation, and food for each winner and a guest, and send one of our editors along to be your guide. Then we'll put your story in our January 2014 issue.
Each trip will have a theme, but you should suggest a trail or the backpacker-worthy destination where you can achieve your hiking goals. (You’ll have a better chance of winning if you stick to the Continental U.S., but we’ll consider trips anywhere in North America.) You should be open to adjusting your plans: We may love your mission, but it’s possible we’ll want to improve your trek or your chances of success by sending you to a different destination. All travel will occur before September 2, 2013.
