I agree with Scott's comment. I was excited to enter a photo and the deadline already passed... yet the first time i heard about it was in my Jan 2013 issue!
We received the March 2013 issue on Jan. 8. It talks all about the 2013 Year of the Reader photo contest and sends me to www.backpacker.com/photos, as does this page. However, according to that page the entry deadline was Jan. 6, 2013. What gives? Is it already too late to enter the photo contest that you hyped up after the fact?
Love your magazine, and have used your waypoints on my Oregon 400 to plot a few hikes here in NorCal. I have tried a few times to register to your website (via PC and also my DROID) to no avail. I checked my PC's spam folder...and nothing. And my DROID has no spam folder. I have also sent y'all an email about this, but no response yet. (I guess it is how it zwas meant to be).
Me and a buddy are planning a PCT hike through the Sierra's, west of Lake Tahoe. Maybe some pictures are forthcoming.
