I looked over the recommended cost and also watch Backpacker for cost. Sometimes I know we are missing the family man with two sons who wants to get into backpacking. His sons will out grow teh clothes in 1 or 2 years. He needs to consider safety first and then cost. let's review gear for the family man. I am almost 65 years old now and still backpack. I have taken many young men out and I see Backpacker adds/advice almost pricing them out of the sport.
