The Lodi Mid Insulated’s upper is reinforced with 200 grams of Thinsulate insulation, a winter coat for feet that retains heat and blocks winter’s biting wind. A gusseted tongue and a raised mid cuff prevent snow and ice from finding their way into the shoe. A waterproof breathable membrane allows moisture to escape while shielding against the elements. Capable in the snow as well as dry and cold conditions, the Lodi Mid Insulated is the smart choice for four season outdoor performance. Built using Ahnu’s QuiteLight‘construction, the Lodi Mid Insulated’s central lace lock system provides easy on/off access. A multi-density compression molded EVA midsole protects feet against hard and jagged terrain. A TPU shank with arch support enhances a level stepping platform. Dual-density heel plugs prevent over-pronation and provide overall heel stability. On the outsole, burly 3.5mm lugs grip the ice for traction.

Q.} Do I have to get my girlfriend a women's-specific backpack if her torso size fits a men's one? Do the shoulder strap position and waist belt flare really matter and do you wear a women’s-specific backpack?
Submitted by: Miguel - Detroit, MI
A.} No, Miguel, you don’t necessarily have to get your girlfriend a women’s specific pack. I often wear men’s or unisex packs with great success. And I know small men who have had luck with women’s packs. Forget about the gender labels and look at the pack itself, and the way it works with your girlfriend’s body shape.
