Gear Review: Boreas Lagunitas

A dayhike/bike/travel/commute pack

VERDICT
A dayhike/bike/travel/commute pack? This jack-of-all-trades is actually a master of each. The unique suspension is key to its versatility: You can adjust the space between the pack and your back. When I steamed up on an ascent of Vermont’s Mt. Mansfield, I pushed down on the top of the aluminum frame, yanked a strap, and morphed the standard foam backpad into a taut trampoline suspension*. The simple 22-liter packbag has one large compartment that opens via a C-shaped zipper, which let me peel back the top and access gear quickly. The interior sleeve holds a hydration bladder or laptop, depending on the day’s itinerary.

BEST FOR
Multisporters who want one daypack for all their activities
