I've worn eyeglasses since 7th grade and well that was a long time ago.. In High School I worked part time in an Optimists Office and learned to Grind Lenses to fit the Frames the customer chose, until he fired me to give his nephew the job. Those Lens blanks cost .50 cents each and the Optimist charged the customer $55.00. The average gold or silver filled frame cost $1.00 and the Plastic ones .75 cents. and he charged the customer nearly $100.00 for those $1.00 frames. Nothing much has changed since then other than adding different metals and plastic lenses and making them overseas and in a "Optical Lab" which drives the price up considerably, you have to pay for all those people in the Lab and the Overhead instead on just one person.

Bascially your pay a lot of money for next to nothing especially if they are not Optically correct lenses on those glasses which can harm your eyes while you think your protecting them...So make sure those lenses are "Optically Correct" before you empty you wallet for a $15.00 item...
