Danny Boyle's adaptation of Aron Ralston story shows glimpses of beautiful deserts, high adventure, and that famous rock
Danny Boyle's adaptation of the Aron Ralston story, 127 Hours, debuted at OR, and now it's finally hit the Internets. In it, we see pretty much what you might expect: James Franco as Ralston charming his way through beautiful red sandstone country, showcasing reckless outdoor abandon, and then that whole thing with the boulder.

Aron made it clear immediately after the event and in his book - and it is made clear in the movie too - that he made POOR DECISIONS (especially not telling anyone where he was going). Get over yourselves.

Aron Ralston does start part of Blue John Canyon with 2 girls he meets at the canyon. He invites them to a party that night and was supposed to go to another canyon the next day.Which doesn't happen because of the chock stone pinning his arm.

If it were purely fiction and not based on a real incident, it might be enjoyable. As it is, I find it hard to believe Aron signed off on something so over-the-top, untrue (according to his book) and perhaps irresponsible. I'll rent it on dollar night!

He didn't go into the canyon with the girls but he did meet 2 girls in there. As for their looks, the slot canyon slide into the blue pool of water... I don't recall those!

This looks awful. Plus, I'm still not a fan of this guy being rewarded for making questionable decisions leading up to the boulder incident - mainly, being solo and not telling anyone where he was going (if I recall correctly).
