I've bought over 4 bags over the many years and I now have it down to 4 bags all based on Temperture and Region. For the High Sierra's above 10,000 feet which is generally drier and colder a Goose Down bag rated to Zero is #1 Below 10,000 feet say in So.Cal. on the Pacfic Crest Trail in March a Goose down rated to 20 Degrees was perfect. For Northern Cal through Orgeon and Washington and the Southeast on the Applachian becasuse of the higher Humidities and greater possiblity's of rain a Synthethic bag rated to 20 degrees. In summer a 40 deg. Bag is very good.
If my bags came with a Net Bag which I believe the manaufacturer is strongly suggesting I use it to store the bag and not keep it compressed, especially the goosedown bags so I do.
I hung them in the Closet for years but now have a Workshop at the rear of the yard with an Attic which I use to store all my camping gear in and works perfectly to "hang" all the bags in netting. My most expensive bag I spread out flat and hang it on some fishing Nets.But none of the bags are compressed.
I've made the mistake of trying to wash these bags myself and now leave that up to the Professionals.

I've had a Northface Blue Kazoo for about 10 years and have kept it in a fluff bag except when hiking. Down has stayed fluffed out with no problems. But...now I need to wash it. A little scary.

You guys spend more time filming the reviewer on these gear reviews than the actual gear. Spend more film time focusing on the gear so we can see what the reviewer is talking about. The sleeping bag and Arcteryx Altra reviews hardly had enough film time of the gear to see the gear.

Just leave it hanging in your closet. Any bag, when will eventually just compress the fill and make the insulation rating horrible. Just throw it on a hanger. If you don't have room then just put it under your bed rolled out.

Good information. I bought a down mummy bag, but now I neeed to know if I should get it into a fluff bag (which did not come with it) until I actually backpack.
