I meant that i don't have to buy different types of batterys, the head lap and the orbit are compatible. Of course i always get bigger battery Paquette, not just 4 AAA.

It uses AAA batteries, NOT AA's!
It's fully "Dimmable"!
Major point, for both Ambience & energy savings!
Runs really well on rechargables AAA's, no real need for recharge kit.
Great light!

Yeah, this uses 4 AAA batteries. Not AA.
The reviewer misspoke...

I like the Firefly lid for a nalgine bottle. If you already like to carry a bottle, this weighs less than the black diamond lamp, and lasts forever on 3 AAAs. I replace my batteries about once every 3 trips.

4 batteries? Too heavy for me. Photon rules.

Is a AAA battery not a AA battery lamp, for me made the difference when a decided to buy the item. because AA batteries are heavier than AAA, plus i don't have to buy different tipe of batteries, i just get a pack of AAA batteries for my head lamp and the Orbit. I think is important to make the difference. ooooh one more thing, you should sow that you can diminish the the brightness of the ligth and the PROS of that.
Love this lantern plus it match with my REI Half Dome 2HC tent.

So, I guess you either pack batteries or don't stay out more than a couple of nights?
